Tri-City businesses can hear hazardous waste tips

Businesses can learn tips for complying with state and federal requirements for their dangerous waste at a talk at the Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Drive.

Harold Tilden, who has three decades of experience, will discuss satellite waste accumulation. That’s waste that builds up in partially filled containers near where it is generated rather than in an official, permitted facility. He also will talk about Washington State Department of Ecology requirements, inspections and common compliance violations.

The talk starts at 6 p.m. at a March 31 meeting of the Eastern Washington Chapter of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers after a 30-minute social period.
