Baker Boyer has hired Rob Blethen to the position of vice president and Walla Walla family adviser manager.

Rob Blethen, former publisher of the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, has accepted the position of vice president and Walla Walla family adviser manager of Baker Boyer.

Blethen served as publisher of the Union-Bulletin for six years, starting in 2008. He has also worked for the Yakima Herald-Republic, Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram, Blethen Maine Newspapers and several other branches of the The Seattle Times family of newspapers.

Blethen graduated from the University of Washington with a focus on communications. He went on to complete management programs at Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management and the American Management Association. He has also presented a case study of the Blethen Family Business at the Harvard Business School twice. Blethen has been on the Board of Directors of the YMCA, Chamber of Commerce, Whitman Pioneer and United Way.
