Frey named DOE assistant manager for safety and environment

Jeff Frey has been promoted to assistant manager for safety and environment at the Department of Energy Hanford Richland Operations Office (RL), which is a senior executive service position. He had held the position in an acting capacity.

“Jeff will use his highly diverse professional and technical background and more than 26 years of federal service in various leadership roles to lead RL’s considerable safety and environmental responsibilities at Hanford,” said RL manager Stacy Charboneau in a memo to staff.

Frey was the deputy assistant manager for safety and environment at RL and acted as the assistant manager for mission support. He also has managed the RL Office of Project Performance and Regulatory Integration, and served as the project manager for DOE’s national High Level Waste Tanks Technology Development Program.
