Sweet Onion Restaurant Week starts
WALLA WALLA -- The inaugural Walla Walla Sweet Onion Restaurant Week begins Monday, as more than a dozen of the Walla Walla Valley's top eateries celebrate the official state vegetable.
Participating restaurants will offer a range of dining options and price points. Two-course prix fixe lunches are available at participating restaurants for $12.12, and three-course prix fixe dinners generally will be offered at $20.12 or $30.12.
"Over the past few years, Walla Walla has quickly emerged as one of the nation's top small towns for food, and this week of celebration is a natural progression for the local restaurant industry," said Michael Mettler, Walla Walla Sweet Onion Marketing Commission.
In addition to meals, guests will be able to sign up for a digital cookbook, including the recipes each restaurant has developed for the week as well as the winning recipes from the food competitions July 14-15 during the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival.
Diners can opt into a mobile database powered at each restaurant for their chance at winning a gift card to each participating establishment. Many establishments will also be offering coupons for diners to use at a future visit.
