Prosser Ford dealership adds electronic reader board
PROSSER -- Prosser's Tom Denchel Ford Country has added the finishing touch to its dealership expansion -- a large electronic reader board off Interstate 182 near exit 80.
Co-owner Tim Buffington said the sign is a way for the Ford dealership to give back to the community by posting area events and milestones like birthdays and anniversaries on the board for free.
"I really want to interact with the community," he said.
The dealership doubled its size about a year ago when it purchased two acres at 845 Wine Country Road just off of exit 80, where the new sign is. That allowed Tom Denchel's Ford Country to add a shop that offers detailing, bed liners and reconditioning of used vehicles, Buffington said.
Those two acres are a stone's throw away from the two-acre dealership at 630 Wine Country Road.
Buffington said the additional space is being used to display new and used vehicles and facilitate sales.
"It's an arm of our current dealership," he said.
With the expansion, Buffington said the dealership added about five workers to the staff of more than 50 employees at the Prosser dealership.
