BMW Drops Unbeatable X1 Lease Deals This July

The 2026 BMW X1 in a Nutshell

For those looking into stepping into the world of BMW crossovers, the X1 is the place to start. It's been that way since 2010, and over the span of more than 15 years, the small SUV has undergone three generations, transforming from a rear-drive-based 1 Series on stilts to a front-drive Mini-derived baby Bimmer.

The third and current generation was introduced in late 2022 for the 2023 model. It retains the Mini roots and effectively serves as the more formal sibling of the Mini Countryman. Despite being a few years old now, it has yet to receive a facelift, but that version may get Neue Klasse-inspired styling. In the meantime, updates for 2026 are relatively minor, with more standard equipment and additional color choices.

2026 BMW X1 Lease Deals for July

Both trims of the X1 have lease deals this July, each for 39 months. Starting with the xDrive28i, the entry-level model goes for $499 per month with $4,329 due at signing. Meanwhile, the more powerful M35i can be leased at $619 per month with $4,749 due at signing.

Qualified lessees are also entitled to $1,000 off the MSRP to reduce those monthly payments, so it's worth asking if you can avail of that incentive. Note that there is a $ 0.25-per-mile penalty for exceeding the 32,500-mile cap. These offers are valid until August 2, 2026.

2026 BMW X1 Highlights

BMW likes to keep the X1 lineup nice and simple in the U.S. There are two trims: the aforementioned xDrive28i and M35i, with base prices of $43,200 and $52,400, respectively. There is no 'in-between' here, so it's either base or all-out for the U.S-market X1.

As the facelifted model is coming soon, the 2026 updates aren't dramatic at all. There are additional standard features, including Comfort Access (apparently not included before), an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and wireless charging.

For engines, the xDrive28i uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine straight from the Mini Countryman S, producing 241 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. As for the M35i, that same engine bumps up the power to 312 hp, making it a pretty rapid mini crossover.

Final Thoughts

It may be the smallest BMW crossover in the range, but the X1 is actually pretty close in size to the original X3 from 20 years ago. It's not tiny by any means, and it's practical enough for most folks. It's understandably tempting to go straight for the larger X3 despite the $8,000 difference between the two. We say try both out, and don't sleep on this mini BMW X model.
