Honda recalls over 325,000 vehicles. See the affected models
Honda is recalling over 325,000 vehicles due to a malfunction that could increase the risk of the driver being involved in a crash, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall is due to rearview cameras that may not display properly, which is listed under NHTSA ID Number 26V42300.
"Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse," the recall notice stated.
If the display malfunctions, it could increase the risk of a crash, according to the NHTSA.
Here's what to know about what model is included in the recall and what car owners should do.
What Honda model is included in the recall?
The recall, which includes approximately 325,588 vehicles, is for the following model:
- 2018-2020 Odyssey
The recall expands a previous 2020 recall, NHTSA recall number 20V438, which recalled certain 2019 to 2020 Honda Odyssey vehicles.
What to you do if you own the recalled Honda vehicle
Owners of recalled vehicles will be able to take their cars to Honda dealers, where the rearview camera will be replaced free of charge, according to the NHTSA. Letters notifying owners of the recall are expected to be sent on Aug. 24.
Those with questions regarding the recall can call Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
Owners who believe their cars might be involved in the recall can also search for their vehicle identification number (VIN), state and license plate number or their vehicle's year, make and model on NHTSA.gov to see whether their vehicles are included.
