Busy Tri-Cities car dealer begins $12.5M expansion project in Pasco

Corwin Automotive Group has launched construction of its new service complex to support its busy Ford dealership at the Pasco Autoplex.

The Autoplex location is not moving.

The $12.5 million project at 9204 Sandifur Parkway is being built by LCR Construction.

The site is near the Broadmoor Outlet Mall and Camping World Pasco, off Interstate 182.

Corwin first broached an expansion more than a year ago, saying it needed room to grow after becoming landlocked at its main location.

The 50,000-square-foot addition will double the size of its service center, allowing it to handle bigger and heavier vehicles.

It will have more than 30 service bays, including some equipped with heavy-duty lifts to handle commercial vehicles as well as recreational vehicles built on Ford chassis.

The project will enable the dealership to hire more technicians.

Mario Wierzchowski, dealer partner, confirmed work has started.

Corwin Automotive Group purchased the former Russ Dean Ford more than a decade ago.

The business grew to more than 350 vehicle sales a month, putting pressure on demand for everything from oil changes to transmission repairs.

Corwin Brother Properties LLC, a related business, purchased the 8.5-acre site on Sandifur for its visibility from the freeway and easy access for customers throughout the Tri-Cities.

Corwin, based in Fargo, N.D., operates nearly a dozen dealerships nationwide.
