Pasco port lands $5M to support new facility with 114 jobs

The Port of Pasco has secured a $5 million award to advance a major economic development initiative in Reimann Industrial Center.

The Washington Community Economic Revitalization Board, or CERB, approved a $4.25 million loan and $750,000 grant to bring water lines to the future site of Cold Summit, a proposed $190 million storage facility.

The port will provide $2.64 million in local funds.

Reimann is an industrial park north of Pasco and current home to Darigold Inc.’s newly operational dairy processing plant, built at a cost of more than $1 billion.

Cold Summit is expected to employ 114 at the new facility.

Adam Lincoln, the port’s executive director, said construction will begin this year.

“The investment lays the groundwork for high-quality jobs, private investment, and sustained economic growth in Pasco,” he said.

CERB loans and grants help local government and tribes finance infrastructure that promotes economic opportunity and attracts private investment
