Here’s the latest food news from around the Tri-Cities this week.

The Dog Haus, which has a newly open restaurant in Pasco, has created the Pork Al Pastor Sausage and will donate $1 for each sold to support No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit combating child hunger.

The pork al pastor sausage is part of the Dog Haus Absolute Wurst Sausage Sereis and is made with fresh ground hormone- and antibiotic-free port sausage flavored with chiles, garlic, Mexican oregano and pineapple.

It is made in small batches, with each Dog Haus location receiving just 200 links. The Pasco restaurant is at 7425 Sandifur Parkway.

Good news for wine watchers

Silicon Valley Bank’s wine division is flourishing under new ownership, a relief to those in the wine industry who rely on it for research and loans, including those in Washington who were shocked regulators seized the bank in March.

Its leader, Rob McMillan, is a go-to resource for wine professionals and the people who write about them.

In a recent post, he said the wine division retained 100% of its employees and and all its borrowing clients under the new ownership.

“In fact, we’ve added a half-dozen significant clients over the past 6 weeks and today are at record client counts, and record loan volumes,” he wrote.
