A popular beauty products chain is opening a new store at Columbia Center in Kennewick

The popular beauty products brand Sephora is opening its own store at Columbia Center mall in Kennewick.

The store will be between the Chico’s clothing store and the Verizon Wireless branch near Barnes & Noble, according to a release.

Construction is already underway on the renovation of the 4,300-square-foot store that once housed a Charming Charlie’s shop. The store faces the east side, toward Columbia Center Boulevard, and opens to the outside, rather than into the mall.

Sephora currently occupies a smaller space inside JC Penney. That is expected to continue.

The store is expected to open this spring and employee about 20-25 people, said the release.

Sephora was founded more than 20 years ago and offers more than 400 brands of beauty products and personalized services.

“They are a leader in the beauty category and an immense value to our portfolio as we continually enhance guest experience,” Nikki Ostergaard, director of marketing and business development for the mall, said in a release.
