A sneak peek at the new Jackalope Bar & Grill in Kennewick. And a new woman’s clinic is opening
The owners of a new Kennewick bar gave their Facebook fans a sneak peek this week at their major renovation.
Laurie Winchel and Emilie Sahm took over Espo’s Sports Bar and Grill at 107 Vista Way in Kennewick at the first of the year.
They had hoped to get all their remodeling done in time to open Feb. 1 but their Jackalope Bar & Grill isn’t expected to open for another week.
Still, their social media posts are making folks anxious to see the results of their hard work.
John, Debbie and Shawn Espinosa owned Espo’s for 12 years and decided it was time to move on.
The bar was a popular with dart players and was at times sponsored as many as 17 teams in the Tri-Cities.
Winchel and Sahm have not said what their new plans are for the Jackalope.
But Winchel told the Herald in December they planned to keep it as “your local neighborhood bar.”
“We’ll add some new TVs. Keep it a super-fun atmosphere. It already has great food: pizza, burgers, apps. That pizza oven is staying here,” said Winchel, who has been managing The Edge Steakhouse and Sports Lounge in Kennewick, and is part of the Zintel Creek Golf Club ownership group.
