Mid-Columbia Fisheries selects manager for Lower Yakima project

Merritt Mitchell Wajeeh joins Mid-Columbia Fisheries in the newly established position of Lower Yakima Basin Project manager.

Wajeeh brings more than 20 years of experience in water quality and related work, and is a farmer near Sunnyside. She will work to improve water quality and salmon habitat in the lower Yakima Basin and the Tri-Cities.

The nonprofit fisheries group is dedicated tor restoring wild salmon and steelhead, and is part of a statewide network of fisheries groups.
