  • New service expands Breeze’s network to Washington, using 137-seat Airbus planes.

A Utah airline will replace Avelo Airlines as the Tri-Cities’ connection to Burbank, Calif., Disneyland and southern California.

Breeze Airways, based in Salt Lake City, announced it will launch bi-weekly service between the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco and Burbank in the Los Angeles area on March 18, 2026.

The Wednesday and Saturday flights include an extension between Burbank and Provo-Salt Lake City.

It is Breeze’s first venture in Washington state.

The Port of Pasco said it welcomes Breeze to its lineup of six airlines.

“We’re very pleased with this announcement and their timing is great,” said Adam Lincoln, executive director for the Port of Pasco, which owns and operates the airport.

Lincoln confirmed the regional airport can accommodate Breeze at its gates and ticket counters.

Breeze said fares will start at the promotion rate of $49 one way

Lukas Johnson, chief commercial officer for Breeze, said it was not coincidental that it is filling the void being left by Avelo.

“It’s an underserved area to Southern California. We have studied it for a while and thought we would be a good carrier to fill in... While it had service, it didn’t make a lot of sense,” he told the Tri-City Herald.

Avelo said it would halt West Coast operations to focus on the East Coast this week. The Tri-Cities was a good run for the airline. It didn’t make sense to duplicate efforts, he added.

Breeze launched in 2021 and calls itself an elevated, affordable carrier, providing service to leisure destinations.

It is assigning a 137-seat Airbus A220-300 to the Pasco/Burbank/Utah run. It is configured with 12 first-class seats, 45 “extra legroom” seats and 80 standard seats. All seats have power, wi-fi streaming and there will be full service from cabin stewards.

Breeze serves 76 cities in 34 states and has a fleet of 50 aircraft, including 40 A220-300 and 10 Embraer 190 models.

Avelo announced this week it would stop serving the West Coast from its base at Burbank.

Breeze will join a lineup that includes Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta and United. Alaska provides the region’s other connection to Los Angeles with daily flights to Los Angeles International.
