Keep your vision in front of you

Ralph Waldo Emerson tells us that “Love is a synonym for God.”

Love is God expressing; and when we feel that in ourselves, we can reflect it out to others, whether it is reflected back to us or not. The beginning of peace on Earth begins with this love being projected out, no matter what we may encounter.

Everything in life happens for a reason. If we allow it to unfold naturally and with ease, accepting the blessings life has to offer, we sometimes realize that it all has to happen so the puzzle pieces can fall into place.

Keeping your vision in front of you involves getting an idea, polishing the idea, planting the idea into subjective mind, and then knowing that it will come about. Let’s look at an example of this process and then look a little deeper into the steps of the process:

My husband Gary wanted a job here in Kennewick. He had been a computer consultant for 10 years on the road and wanted to find something close to home. Kadlec Regional Medical Center was where he wanted to work and he applied for several positions. Then he spent eight months looking for work in the Tri-Cities, at Kadlec and other locations. The seed was planted, but other events needed to occur before the perfect position at Kadlec became available.

▪  Getting the idea: Many times this starts with a dissatisfaction about something going on in our lives. For Gary, it was those 100 plane trips a year. He loves airplanes and airports, but after a while, it loses its appeal — watching them while waiting for your next flight.

Everything that was ever invented started with an idea. Someone had to think of the design for an automobile, airplane, soft frozen yogurt or blueberry peach pie. Whatever the invention, it was created twice —once in mind and once in reality. The Science of Mind textbook calls this “Having a mental equivalent.”

▪  Polish the idea: If you want the new job, relationship or lifestyle change, imagine what it would be like and then list the things you desire in that new situation.

▪  Plant the idea into subjective mind: Start saying affirmative prayer treatments for the right and perfect situation to unfold. If you are looking for a new relationship, affirm you will be open and receptive to new situations for meeting people.

▪  Know it will come about: For Gary, it took certain events to fall into place before the job opened up to him. We stopped looking at it as not having a job, but rather as an expectant waiting period.

There are many types of bamboo, and it can take anywhere from three to seven years for the plants to sprout. But once they do, they sprout up several feet a day. The roots have to form first to sustain that overwhelming growth. Sometimes we just need to know that our good is coming and wait for it.

Author Joel Osteen writes in his book You Can, You Will: 8 Undeniable Qualities of a Winner, “What you thought was over and done is still going to happen. When it looks impossible, like it’s way over your head, God will suddenly cause things to fall into place, giving you favor, influence, and connections.”

So keep your vision in front of you and never give up on it.
