Spiritual Life

Faith in Christ is the fundamental step in our spiritual journey

For all Christians, conversion to Christ is one of the most important and fundamental steps in the spiritual journey.

As Christians, Christ is the center of our beliefs, so it’s important that we are working towards being converted to him and his gospel. There are many things we can do to build, strengthen, and maintain our conversion to Christ.

One gospel principle and main principle to any religion is faith.

For Christians, we focus on faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Having faith in Jesus Christ will lead us to be converted to him and his teachings. As we become more converted to Christ through our efforts, our lives will be blessed, and we will grow spiritually.

To be converted to Christ means that we have faith in Christ. Having faith in Christ is believing in his teachings and in his power. Having faith in Christ is trusting in him and relying on him.

Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for each and every one of us. Through his atonement, we can be cleansed and ultimately make it back to our Heavenly Father. Christ’s sacrifice allows us to choose to become better and improve each day.

As we become converted to Christ, our testimony of him will grow, and we will feel even more inclined to live his gospel and follow the example that he set for us.

In order to become converted to Christ, there are certain steps we need to take as we live each day so we can grow our faith as we learn to align our will with his.

A few things we can do on our journey to conversion are to pray daily, read our scriptures daily, serve the Lord by serving others, obey the commandments, and listen for and follow the promptings of the Spirit. As James taught in chapter 2, faith without works is dead. He says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

The best way for us to grow our faith is by doing and acting on the principles of the gospel. So, if we want to have a stronger testimony of Christ and be converted to him, we need to act. As we make an earnest effort to follow Christ, our desire to continue to follow him will increase.

Being a follower and disciple of Christ is very rewarding. Heavenly Father will bless our lives when he knows we are trying to obey him.

As we grow closer to Christ and take the necessary steps to make it back to our Father in Heaven, we will have the companionship of the Holy Ghost, who will help guide us in our lives and comfort us when we need it. Through the Holy Ghost, we will be able to feel Christ’s love for us and experience the peace that he can bring into our lives.

As we become converted to Christ, we can more fully take advantage of his atonement and merciful love. Christ will bring the light and joy into our lives that cannot be found through any other source. He is there to help us through this life and to strengthen us spiritually.

He is the Prince of Peace, our advocate, and our Savior. Christ has much to offer and we can access those blessings as we become more converted to him.
