Popular brewery opens new waterfront location + Construction starts on 5th Graze
Moonshot Brewing is officially opening its new Pub at the Park in Richland on Wednesday.
The brewery has been doing a soft run for club members to work out kinks, and will now open to the public.
The pub is in the old home of Baan Khun Ya Thai, which closed last year.
They’re at the corner of George Washington Way and Lee Boulevard, just steps away from Howard Amon Park.
They’ll be on the east side of the building, behind Amethyst Creamery.
The new location will feature a full kitchen, seating for 30 inside and 60 outside during patio weather. And the patio will be dog friendly.
Moonshot is known for their creative beers, including their Sagittarius flagship IPA, Ophi lager, Dress Rehearsal Spice Apple Cider Beer and more.
They plan to have 10 favorite beers on tap, as well as cider and wine. The food menu will include pub favorites and mac and cheese.
Moonshot, owned by Tri-Cities couple Ryan Wattenbarger and Hilary Bird, has been open for just a few years, but has quickly become a Tri-Cities favorite.
Their brewery opened in 2019 at the corner of Steptoe Street and Gage Boulevard, right on the boundary between Richland and Kennewick.
Since opening, they’ve managed to top multiple polls for Herald readers’ favorite brewery.
Those missing Baan Khun Ya could be in luck. In response to a question on social media, Moonshot indicated the owners of the Thai eatery are looking to open a food truck that could be parked nearby.
Moonshot’s original brewery will remain open and continue to host the trivia and events customers love, at 8804 W. Victoria Ave. The new location address is 94 Lee Blvd., across the street from the Dugout Bar & Grill.
Graze restaurant
A popular Tri-Cities sandwich shop is getting closer to opening a new Kennewick location. Graze has filed building permits for its new eatery in Kennewick, where the China Cafe was recently demolished.
The plans show a 1,400 drive-through restaurant, with a walk-up window. Plans show no interior seating.
The owners of Graze announced the new location more than a year ago, but the demolition work for China Cafe didn’t take place until late summer.
Once finished the new shop, at 131 N. Ely St., will be their fifth location, and second in Kennewick. Two of the others are in Walla Walla and one in Richland.
River’s Edge
Work is underway at the River’s Edge Plaza in Richland. The shopping center built in 1967 is undergoing extensive exterior work.
The plaza encompasses more than 110,000 square feet of retail space on an 8-acre lot near the Columbia River in Richland.
It’s located just off of Highway 240 at 2600 N. Columbia Center Blvd. They currently have listings available for a 14,000-square-foot retail space and a 16,000-square-foot space.
Renderings included with real estate listings show the project will be a complete rework of the aging facade of the shopping center.
The plaza was sold in 2019 after losing Chuck E. Cheese and another major anchor tenant, according to the Tri-City Journal of Business.
