Exclusive | 2 Tri-Cities pop-up Valentine’s events and other treats, gifts

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching.

If you waited until the last minute, or forgot altogether, you’re in luck. Dozens of Tri-Cities businesses are working over time to ensure your sweetie never has to know. Shoppers can find the perfect gifts at pop-up markets, unique bakeries or any of the many gift stores in the area.

Let these Tri-Cities businesses take the work out of playing Cupid this Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Markets

Saturday, Feb. 12

Layered Cake Artistry is hosting a Valentine’s Day market 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 117 W. Kennewick Ave.

Other market vendors will include florists, artists, coffee vendors and more: My Garden Over Floweth, Carly Allred Studio, LOBA, Flying X Coffee Stand and The Teal Box.

Layered Cake Artistry — run by sisters Elena Gavin and Concetta Gulluni — specializes in cakes that look as good as they taste. Their cakes come in flavors that seem like they’re taken straight from a Food Network competition, from strawberry champagne to orange passion fruit and chocolate salted caramel.

They even do fondant cakes that you’ll hesitate to slice because they look like works of art.

While it’s too late to get in a custom pre-order for Valentine’s Day, they’ll have plenty of pink treats on hand. In addition to cakes, some of their other baked favorites include pavlovas, mini bundts, eclairs, cream puffs and more. You can find their full menu online.

Gavin said the bakery will have a fully-stocked counter with special Valentine’s themed eats, as well as a themed backdrop for photos. She said shoppers can build their own custom gift sets with bouquets, jewelry, stationary and treats.

“We’re going to have some fun prepackaged gift items, we’ll have everything you can think of here,” she said. “You can put together a basket. It will be your standard valentines fair with a twist, it’s all very fun and modern.”
