Eat All About It: Blind wine tastings coming to Prosser’s Clore Center
Looking to develop your palate? The Clore Culinary & Wine Center in Prosser will have a blind tasting May 12 for aspiring wine enthusiasts.
The center offers blind tastings on the first Thursday of every month. May’s tasting will focus on Chenin Blanc. The event includes appetizers with the six wine samples. The event starts at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $30 plus tax, and must be bought in advance. Wine Club members are eligible for a discount. Tickets can be bought at bit.ly/CloreBlindTasting.
And if you can’t make it to that tasting, the center will offer another tasting May 21, this time pitting two French Bordeaux blends against two Washington Bordeaux-style blends.
Tickets for the 3 p.m. event are $30 plus tax, and can be bought at bit.ly/WAvsFRANCE.
At-risk youth fundraiser to highlight Mid-Columbia food and drink
If you want to enjoy local food and drink while supporting efforts to help at-risk youth, mark your calendar to head to Benton City’s Fidelitas Winery on June 2.
The winery’s Red Mountain Tasting Room will be the site for Taste Ignite, a fundraiser for Ignite Youth Mentoring. The nonprofit works to pair kids with mentors to help them on a path to success.
Winemaker Charlie Hoppes will be on hand as Fidelitas serves specialty wine for the event. Castle Event Catering will provide appetizers while Ethos Bakery will have desserts.
Tickets are $50 when bought in advance, or $60 at the door, though space is limited. Tickets can be bought at bit.ly/TasteIgnite.
Fidelitas is at 51810 N. Sunset Road in Benton City.
