For some of us, "spooky season" isn't just for Halloween-it's a way of life. While I'm admittedly being glib, the truth is that there are a lot of people who incorporate witchcraft practices into their everyday lives. This isn't just about silly rituals and quirky decor; we are talking about everyday practices that reflect their faith and deep intention.

One of the most powerful insights into a witch's world is how they set up their home. Crystals, flowers, and even certain colors all have special, intentional meanings. The most important place, though, in a witch's home is the front door. Witches do not see a front door as merely an entryway and exit: it is a literal portal that allows certain energies to pass through it. TikToker @instantwitch broke down their spiritual significance.

What a Witch's Door Really Stands For

Her main point was that front doors let energy in, while back doors let it out. She recommended wiping the front door completely clean every new moon to ensure only good, well-intentioned energy enters your living space.

Doors in witchcraft. doors are liminal spaces, and mark the threshold between one space and the next. they're your first line of defense, so make sure to keep your doors cleansed and protected. #doors#witchyvibes#liminal#witchtips

That's not all you can do, of course. Here are a few ways to make sure that your door is in top spiritual shape:

  • Blow Cinnamon: Witches believe that blowing a pinch of ground cinnamon through your open front door on the first day of the month invites abundance and prosperity to enter your home.
  • Paint It Purple: In modern pagan traditions, a purple front door historically indicates to those in the know that a practicing witch lives inside.
  • Hang Witch Bells: Hung directly on the inside doorknob, witch bells need to be made of authentic brass or iron to safely clear away stagnant energy the second it attempts to enter the home.
  • Hang Dried Herbs by the Entryway: Aromatic herbs like rosemary (for protection), lavender (for peace), and wormwood (to guard against negative entities) are often dried and bundled together to help ward off various negative energies before they cross your threshold.

Of course, if you're just into the aesthetics of it all tht;s perfectly fine too. But a little magic can go a long way.
