Orange Cat's Face Says It All After Overhearing 2 Words No Pet Wants to Hear

My dogs know certain words by heart. When they hear "treat," "walk," "dinner" or "ride," both my Dachshund and my Pug mix understand exactly what I'm talking about, and it's like music to their ears. Yet when I utter the words "suitcase," "bath" or "vet," they get anxious and hide. These must be universal terms known to the pet world that mean trouble is ahead.

Penny the orange cat recently listened in on her parents' conversation and heard several things known as her "trigger words," and it's easy to see why.

In the TikTok from @pennythegingercat, the pretty kitty was relaxing in her cat bed when her parents started discussing some matters in the other room. Penny couldn't help but overhear what they were saying and realized they were talking about her.

"Is she ready to go to the vet?" her mom asked, to which her dad replied, "No, I still have to give her a bath."

After hearing those two dreaded words - "vet" and "bath" - Penny's ears perked up and her expression spoke volumes. A look of sheer panic was pasted on her face as she continued to listen. Little did she know that more trouble was headed her way as she heard her dad add that he would also be brushing her teeth.

"But the guests are coming over any minute now," the cat's mom interjected, much to Penny's horror. She seemed to be thinking, "They know I hate having company!"

Penny Didn't Have a Poker Face

With every sentence, Penny grew more horrified. She heard several more words that were on her "hope to never hear" list.

"Where's her carrier, hon?" Penny's dad asked her mom. "It's next to the vacuum cleaner."

"Oh I found it - it was next to our Costco-sized roll of tin foil."

Other issues were revealed during the conversation that obviously didn't sit well with Penny, including getting shots and her nails trimmed and sharing a carrier with someone named Felix.

Penny looked like she wanted to head for the nearest exit. Every thought of distress she had was written all over her face. Hopefully, her parents were just joking about the whole thing or else she may have looked for an escape.
