The way a pet joins their family is the most special tale, whether it's a classic shelter adoption story or a wild ride full of twists and turns. However an animal finds their home-there's no question it was meant to be.

The same can be said for the arrival of Silver Labrador puppy Smokey. His family was still grieving the loss of Cooper, another Labrador Retriever, but none more so than the remaining family dog, Tucker. When the chocolate Lab met his new puppy brother, he couldn't contain his joy and excitement.

Losing Cooper left a hole in all of our hearts, especially Tucker's. Watching Smokey walk into our lives doesn't replace what we lost, but we're hopeful that Tucker has found a companion to help heal some of that loneliness. Welcome home, Smokey. #newpuppy#puppy#bestfriends

Let the fun begin! These brothers already have a classic sibling vibe-one chaotic, one easygoing-but only time will tell how rambunctious the silver Lab puppy will become. Once he's comfortable, all bets are off!

"Puppies are so chill on the first day at their new home, and then 24 hours later they turn into velociraptors," commenter @vw202671 agreed. The dogs' mom, @tiff_uhnay, may have missed the energy and entertainment of a multi-dog household, but she might question her decision when this innocent-looking pup starts getting more comfortable.

@Katherinemae said what everyone was thinking when she wrote, "Dogs getting excited over puppies will always be my favorite." It's just the sweetest thing! As precious as it is to watch a puppy learn about the world, watching an older dog guide them, or even greet them, is the purest example of unconditional love.

Helping a Dog Heal Through Grief

Tucker was the happiest dog when his Yellow Lab brother, Cooper, was still alive, but he hadn't been the same since. Even though it's normal for dogs to grieve the loss of friends and family members, even other animals, it can also be difficult for pet parents to witness.

Tiffany hopes that Smokey's presence will help bring him out of his funk, and so far, her plan is working brilliantly. Sometimes, a change in environment or routine can give a depressed dog the spark they need to become themselves again, but adopting a new furry friend can also help fill a gap in a lonely dog's heart.

Clearly, Tucker's parents made the right move by bringing Smokey home, and this is only the beginning of their beautiful friendship. Soon, Smokey will be zooming around the room with his big brother!
