Dogs living on the street have numerous frightening challenges they face on a daily basis. Food scarcity, extreme weather and health problems are just a few obstacles these canines have to deal with on their own. These issues are even scarier for senior dogs with physical impairments.

Iago is a senior blind dog who was abandoned and fending for himself until Old Souls Animal Rescue stepped in to give him the love and support he needed.

This blind dog was in emergency ICU care at the shelter just a few weeks ago. Today, Iago is safe at Old Souls Animal Rescue, where he's learning that the world isn't quite so scary when you have gentle voices and helping hands around you, a soft place to rest, and friends by your side. Every day he grows a little more confident, a little more comfortable, and a little more trusting. He may not be able to see the world, but we hope he can now feel the love in it If Iago's story touched your heart, please like, comment, share, and repost this video. The TikTok from @oldsoulsanimalres told Iago's story and the trauma he suffered while he was homeless.

"A few weeks ago, he was hit by a car and in emergency ICU at the shelter," the on-screen text explained, as Iago sweetly stared into the camera.

The precious pooch was a bit overwhelmed when he first arrived at Old Souls after his ICU stay, yet he sought out comfort from staff members and other fur babies.

"He's learning that the world isn't quite so scary when you have gentle voices and helping hands around you, a soft place to rest, and friends by your side," the caption read. "Every day he grows a little more confident, a little more comfortable, and a little more trusting."

Iago Got a Warm Welcome

Several clips featured Iago exploring the rescue and finding new ways to get around as calm voices gave him guidance. The canine cutie was also surrounded by other four-legged friends (including a "chaotic kitten") who immediately made him feel at home. Iago is surrounded by the love and affection he deserves and getting a second chance at happiness.

"He may not be able to see the world, but we hope he can now feel the love in it," the on-screen text concluded, adding, "Welcome home, Iago."
