Leslie Jones and Jasmine Roth Will Help Short-Term Rental Owners on Roast My Rental
On Roast My Rental, Leslie Jones will visit some of the "worst" short-term rental properties across the country. Not only are these properties falling apart, but most of them look much worse than their online listings, leading renters to feel misled once they arrive at the property.
The comedian will start out by roasting each space and bringing some humor to the situation - and then, the work will begin. Jasmine Roth, known for Help! I Wrecked My House, will work with Jones and the owners to renovate the property in 72 hours, with a goal of making the property rental-worthy for vacationers.
In the first episode, Jones will meet Michael and Monica, the owners of a cottage in Temecula, Calif. Unexpected health issues got in the way of Michael and Monica's plans to update the house, and when Jones gets there, she'll see dirty carpets, duct tape-powered repairs and even safety hazards. Enter Roth. The home reno expert will lead the others on a three-day renovation project, resulting in a safe and beautiful home that's sure to appeal to renters.
"Millions of people check into vacation rentals each year, but sometimes what's posted online is not reality," Jones said in a statement. "There are rentals with great photos, but the reviews tell a very different story...and I'm gonna find out why."
When Does Roast My Rental Come Out? How to Watch the HGTV Show
The inaugural season of Roast My Rental will debut on HGTV on Friday, July 24, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The 11-episode season will air new episodes every Friday, with each new episode hitting HBO Max for streaming the following day.
"As a comedian who's been on the road for years, trust me, I've stayed in a lot of rentals and have seen the good, the bad and the ‘oh hell no,'" Jones added. "These owners know their rentals aren't working, so they've asked me to call out the problems, help fix them and offer them a shot to turn these 1-star disasters into 5-star escapes."
