Look who's proud of himself! A Golden Retriever pup was really feeling himself after he found the perfect "treasure" while scrounging around the yard. The dog was really in love with the twig he found, he needed to show it off! He was so precious about it too. It's such a shame that Mom told him he had to put it back. That's ruff!

Banks is such a curious little guy. He likes to explore! What's more, the Golden Retriever really likes to bring his treasures to his mama. He wants her to enjoy it too!

Here he comes - and he has a present with him too! The twig Banks had in his mouth was almost as big as he was. It was sagging as he dragged it up to the front door where his mom was waiting for him.

Sadly, Mom didn't need another twig in the house. So she had to tell the pup to turn himself around and place the twig back to where he found it.

"Nope, can't bring that in," she told him. Which was tough but fair. "He brought me his greatest treasure and I rejected it," the woman lamented in the video's caption.

Commenters wanted Banks to have his "greatest treasure" back.

"Just let him bring it in for a bit ‘till he goes asleep, he was so happy," one person pleaded.

"I'd let that little face bring a whole tree in if he wanted," another commenter teased.

"He said, ‘Welp, guess it's a night under the stars,'" joked another person.

While another person could relate: "I tell mine ‘Nature stays outside,'" they wrote. "Mine does the same thing."

Why Do Dogs Bring "Gifts?"

Everyone knows that dogs are naturally generous. They like to give gifts! But why is that true?

It's not entirely clear why dogs bring their humans gifts, but one theory is that it is a product of their hunting past. Back in the day, dogs used to gather food for their pack and bring it back to their dens. So in essence, it's their way of sharing with the group!
