Chilling in the back of his mom's car, Ritchie, the Great Pyrenees, is beyond excited to see his dad again. Recognizing the airport, Ritchie already knows that this trip means he gets to see him once more.
Cautiously monitoring the airport hallways with a balloon on his collar, Ritchie is anxiously looking around for any signs of his dad. The most beautiful moment occurs when Ritchie finally spots his dad, and they embrace most lovingly.
In the video, Ritchie's dog mom explains that she reached an agreement with Ritchie's dad, her ex, regarding these arrangements shortly after they broke up. Like any dog that experiences a drastic lifestyle change, Ritchie's behavior began to change after his dad left. Thankfully, both of Ritchie's pet parents were able to put their differences aside for the love of their fluffy pups.
In the comment section, over 2,000 comments exploded with praise for these exes for putting aside their differences and coming together to give Ritchie the best life possible with his favorite people.
"ik people make fun of it but genuinely people doing this for their pets is the greenest flag, just cause the relationship didn't work out doesn't mean animals can't still be shared," one user shared.
Another commenter added, "Many ppl can't manage this even for their children! Well done."
"My ex and I co-parented our rescue French bulldog for 5 years until we lost him at 7 years old to cancer, he went with his dad every other Thursday to Sunday and he had first dibs if I was going away. You never hold your children hostage or use them as a weapon in a relationship or a past one," shared another pet parent in a similar situation.
A beautiful example of how we can all come together over our shared loved ones, we can't help but commend these pet parents for their exemplary behavior.
