DirecTV Announces Big News for Subscribers
DirecTV announced multiple new offerings for subscribers Tuesday, unveiling three additions to its popular Genre Packs feature.
The company is adding AMC+ to its MyEntertainment pack, Shudder to its MyCinema bundle and Fanatiz to MiEspañol, it said in a press release.
What are Genre Packs?
Launched in February 2025, Genre Packs allow users to pick and choose their viewing options based on their personal preferences.
"Genre packs let you build a TV experience around the content you watch most-without paying for channels you don't need," DirecTV says.
There are five packs in total: MyKids, My Entertainment, MiEspañol,My News and MySports. Each pack costs $19.99.
"With five options across a variety of genres, get the channels you want and the content you love without filler channel overload," the official DirecTV website reads.
What is being added?
AMC+, which is now part of the MyEntertainment pack, includes programming from AMC, BBC America, IFC and SundanceTV, along with access to Shudder and a library of movies and exclusive series.
Some of the shows available via AMC+ include Mad Men, The Walking Dead, Gangs of London, Killing Eve and more.
Meanwhile, Shudder will be bringing a deep collection of horror and thriller films, along with other original programming to MyCinema. Some of the titles included on Shudder are The Creep Tapes, Deadstream, When Evil Lurks, Speak No Evil and Terrified.
Finally, Fanatiz is a sports streaming platform centered on international soccer. MiEspañol subscribers will now receive expanded access to various major South American soccer leagues, as well as international club competition, match replays and highlights and other news and analysis. Select rugby coverage will also be part of Fanatiz.
