You Won't Believe What Victor Wembanyama Did After His NBA Finals Loss

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. They had a double-digit lead in every game of the NBA Finals, but they ended up losing the series to the New York Knicks 4-1.

Wemby's reputation has been faltering after being called for several flagrant fouls throughout the playoffs, and some fans thought the star center avoided being called for another one that he deserved when he got under the foot of Jalen Brunson on a shot in Game 5.

While Wembanyama has been scrutinized to an unfair degree on social media, it looks like he's not the evil villain New York and the rest of the NBA fandom have made him out to be. Wemby and his Spurs teammate, Julian Champagnie, visited sick children in San Antonio on Monday, and the experience sure looked like a pick-me-up not just for those families, but for the players as well.

The Spurs players shook hands with the child lying in bed in the second frame of the post above, but that wasn't the only kid who got to meet them.

The Spurs are known for the attention they give to the San Antonio community. The team is the only professional sports organization of the four major leagues, so the players and the franchise at large often take responsibility for making the city feel a little bit more connected, even off the basketball court.

The Spurs have several decisions to make this offseason. They need to decide how they can insert star guard Dylan Harper into the starting lineup. Coach Mitch Johnson will need to evaluate some of the adjustments he made throughout the series and learn from them for the next playoff run. And Wemby himself must get stronger and use his experiences to benefit him in the future.

In the present, it looks like the superstar was able to brighten a lot of days for some children who don't have many.
