Why Golden Retrievers are so friendly
Golden Retrievers are best known to be very friendly and fun family dogs to welcome into your home. But what makes them so friendly?
According to the My Golden Retriever Puppies blog, Golden Retrievers are so friendly because "genetic disposition plays an essential role in shaping a dog's temperament"
"Golden Retrievers were originally bred as hunting dogs in Scotland, and their friendly disposition was favored by breeders," they explained. "Over time, this temperament was further refined and established as a defining characteristic. They were bred to work alongside their owners and needed to be amenable to cooperating with humans and other dogs alike."
The selective breeding over time resulted in a dog that's well known to be social, gentle, tolerant, and can be easily trained.
