Former WWE Cruiserweight and ECW Champion Teases Return to Wrestling

Even with his 56th birthday approaching, a wrestling legend isn't ready to call it quits on his in-ring career.

John Cena, AJ Styles and Goldberg are among the notable WWE icons who recently hung up the boots on their illustrious career. Brock Lesnar has teased retirement during his feud with Oba Femi, so perhaps he isn't too far off, either.

Some fans have wondered what the future holds for Chavo Guerrero Jr. in the ring. He hasn't wrestled for WWE since 2011, but returned to the promotion last year to work as a producer for WWE and AAA.

During an appearance on "Gabby AF" (h/t WrestlingInc.com), Guerrero addressed the possibility of wrestling again. Guerrero wouldn't close the door, noting that he still felt good in his last match with TNA.

"You know what? Guerreros never retire," Guerrero said. "We never really stop wrestling. We always keep it going. It's just who we are. It's just in our DNA. So, my last kind of big match was that TNA show, I don't know if you saw that one in El Paso. That was awesome. It was great.

"I felt really good in the ring. I was in the ring with some really great guys and, you know, my hometown of El Paso. I really, really liked it. You never know. I never say never because it's just a phone call. You think, 'I'm never going to do this again,' and all of a sudden you get a call and go, 'Well, I guess I'm doing it again."

Guerrero joined WWE in 2001 after a five-year stint in WCW, spending the next 10 years with the company. Guerrero was released in June 2011 and went on to work for various promotions, including TNA/Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. Had a Decorated Run in WWE

In his 10-year run as a WWE superstar, Chavo Guerrero won four Cruiserweight Championships, one ECW Championship and twice captured the WWE Tag Team titles with his uncle, the late Eddie Guerrero.

Guerrero Jr. will likely be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame one day. For now, he continues to play a valuable role as a producer for WWE and AAA.
