In addition to the tiny size of the four Maine Coon kittens, can we all just remark upon how calm Luna is when it comes to giving birth?
Contraction? No problem for this big kitty. She's got her snack, and she is good to go!
This majestic Maine Coon mom knows exactly what to do when it comes to nurturing and cleaning these brand-new, hour-old, adorable kittens, and it's absolutely precious.

How Big Do Maine Coon Cats Get?
It's hard to believe that these four tiny Maine Coon kittens, who still have their eyes closed and their ears shut (so technically they can't see or hear), will double their birth rate in the first week of their life!
According to Maine Coon cat breeder Sassy Koonz, Maine Coon kittens are expected to gain about 10 to 15 grams per day to reach 300 to 400 grams by 2 weeks of age.
So how big do full-size Maine Coon cats get?
As one of the largest domestic breeds of cats, Maine Coons typically reach between 12 and 15 pounds for the females and between 18 and 22 pounds for the males.
As you can see, this Maine Coon mom cat, Luna, is substantially sized for a female, so these kittens have a solid chance of being on the larger size.
Part of that growth will, of course, include their signature lynx-like tufted ears, thick coats, and bushy tails.
As someone about to become a first-time mom this summer, I hope I am just as calm and cool as Luna was during her birth (and luckily I'm just having the one and not four!).
