Of all the cool coat color combinations in all of dog world, some of them are so unbelievably beautiful, you'll find it hard for others to live up to the same hype.

One rare blue German Shepherd is so fluffy, fuzzy, and floppy, she could easily be mistaken for a werewolf in the night!

Maeve, the blue German Shepherd, is a real gift from the canine gods. Whether she's living her best life frolicking through the fields or simply existing with her traffic-stopping, plush, blue coat, she's a true legend in the making!

At just about 1.5 years old now, the sassy, unapologetic pup with 100% main character energy has earned her spot as one unique-looking California queen! There's no doubt she could use that cartoon face to get out of trouble (not that she'd ever cause any)!

With such an interesting look, Maeve's Blue Bay Shepherd roots make her somewhat of a local celebrity. The developing breed (who looks like straight-up wolves or werewolves) is rare and began in Palm Bay, Florida.

They're bred to have the affectionate temperament of a German Shepherd and the appearance and trainability of a wolf, which makes sense, looking at Maeve.

If you think this girl is just good looks, think again. She's incredibly smart and has even learned how to pull one over on Mom with one foolproof trick. The audacity of running the scary vacuum isn't happening on Maeve's watch.

Take a look at how sweet Maeve puts an end to the madness while Mom tries to figure out why the vacuum kept shutting off:

Not me thinking I was overthinking when I was actually being sabotaged. She said: absolutely no vacuuming allowed in this house. So now I have a new fear of her electrocuting herself just to avoid chores. #dogsoftiktok#funnydogs#relatable#petsoftiktok#fyp

Don't worry-Maeve is safe! Mom found a different place to plug in all the household items that the German Shepherd loathes!

What Are the Rarest German Shepherd Colors?

If you've never seen a pretty blue girl like Maeve, it's because this particular German Shepherd shade-which is actually more of a gunmetal gray-only makes up a small percentage of the population because of how rarely both parents carry the recessive gene.

A recessive gene that dilutes a dog's black pigment causes this blue color, and both parents have to carry the gene. Though blue is a rarity, there are even rarer colors that German Shepherds may end up with, including:

  • Isabella (the rarest): a dusty lilac or faded champagne
  • Liver: a dark chocolate or reddish-brown hue
  • Panda: a unique tricolor pattern with symmetrical white, black, and tan marks
  • White: a breed variation more than just genetics

If you encounter a blue German Shepherd or any other of the rare-colored pups, do your research to find the most reputable, responsible breeder. And always check out your local shelter or a German Shepherd rescue first. You never know when or where you'll find your little beauty like Maeve!
