Dachshunds Watching Thunderstorm With Mom Spot the Cutest Little Visitors
There's something so relaxing about sitting and watching a storm roll in. Between the pitter-patter sounds of falling rain and the way the air feels different, it's a whole vibe. Dachshund sisters, Digit and Pip, feel the same way, and recently, a storm welcomed some pretty cute visitors.

In case you needed 37 seconds of pure bliss to unwind, @digitdax heard the call and came through. While the Dachshunds enjoyed the sounds and sights of the storm, a family of ducks waddled their way into the yard to enjoy along with them. It's a real-life Disney movie in their backyard!
But as precious as the pups are all on their own just watching the ducks, this story gets even better.

The adorable ducks aren't just random visitors; they are friends of the dogs, and the ducks roam around freely. They're always nearby waiting for food and/or attention, and both Digit and Pip are in love (so are we)!

Why Some Dogs Love Thunderstorms
A lot can be said about the importance of socializing your pup early and often. That means exposing them to all kinds of people, sounds, animals, and sights so that as they grow, nothing scares them. The Dachshund sisters have a love for storms, probably because they've always been shown they're safe with Mom through it all.
Of course, there's always going to be pups who are terrified of thunderstorms (same). The sound might be too much if they've never been desensitized or had a bad experience during one before.
Dogs are smart, too, so they can sense shifts in barometric pressure, changes in their senses, and how we react to whatever's happening outside. If we're scared, they'll be scared, but if we're calm and open to it, they'll hopefully mimic that instead. If they even sense we're uneasy, it's in their nature to react the same.
Along with their loyal ducks, Digit and Pip are living the dream-in all weather!
