There's never a dull moment when you have a Cockatoo around. Whether they're singing, chatting, or causing their own kind of chaos, you will never be bored, that's for sure. The way they experience the world is always entertaining.

The perfect example of this can be seen in the TikTok video below, which shows what happened when a Cockatoo named Poppy realized that she has feet for the first time. I don't know how she managed to go so long without discovering them, but now that she has, it's like she can't even process this new info!

On June 9, Poppy's mom, Melody, shared this peek at Poppy's reaction. She's just staring at her feet like she can't believe they're actually there. It's like you can see the gears in her brain turning as she wonders, "What are those things?"

If it's possible for a Cockatoo to look shocked, that's the way I'd describe the expression on her face.

Just as funny as the video are the comments it has inspired from some of its more than 100,000 viewers.

"I think perhaps she just noticed she's not wearing any pants," one commenter said.

Another viewer quipped, "She said, 'who shaved my legs?'"

If you're just as tickled by this as I am, you'll definitely want to follow Melody and her pets on TikTok. Not only did Poppy have the best reaction to her feet, but she's also an excellent dancer, as we can see in this video from May:

Why Cockatoos React Dramatically to New Things

It usually doesn't matter what their newest discovery was: Cockatoos tend to have big reactions to just about everything to match their big personalities. That's part of the fun of adding this bird to your family.

According to AFA Watchbird Magazine, Cockatoos are known for their intelligence and that means that they will observe when something has changed, even if it's something small.

For example, if you change something about your appearance, like your hair, they will definitely notice, and they'll have a big reaction to that, too, just like Poppy did when she found her feet. Wearing certain bright colors may also get them excited.

The flip side of this? They also really notice when you don't give them enough attention or celebrate those discoveries and will act out accordingly, so make sure that if you welcome a Cockatoo into your home, you're ready to dedicate the time and attention they need to thrive.

Congrats to Poppy on her new discovery. She's had those feet this whole time, but they're new to her!
