The first day of summer is on June 21, which is just a couple of weeks away, and that means that it's time to start making plans for fun in the sun - ideally, in or near water, and with our pets joining us if possible. There's no better time to give them plenty of outdoor fun than in the summer!

If you need any inspiration for summer fun with your dogs, look no further than the TikTok video below. Pugs Bella and Chico are living the good life in their floaties. All they're missing is a cold drink in their paws!

This sweet video from @povpugmom on TikTok shows Chico and Bella bobbing around the water in the most adorable floaties (plus a life jacket for one of the pups) and looking like they're completely at ease. They must have been so relaxed!

It's no wonder that everyone is jealous of these dogs. Floating your cares away is way better than working... or doing almost anything else.

"I love this for them. So adorable," one commenter wrote.

Judging by their mom's comment on the post, it looks like she was having just as much fun as the dogs were that day. "As long as they're with us, every adventure becomes even more special," she wrote in reply to one of her viewers.

If you want to know how to do summer right, just follow the example these Pugs are setting. Good vibes only!

How to Keep Dogs Safe in Open Water

It doesn't matter how good your dogs are at swimming. Open water can be extremely unpredictable, so it's important to take safety precautions when enjoying a day at the beach or the lake with your canine BFFs.

But how? According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), the best way to ensure their safety is by making sure that your dog is wearing a life jacket that fits properly anytime they're in or near the open water, including when they're out on a boat.

It's also non-negotiable to always keep an eye on your dog when you're near water. Things can go wrong in a split second, so making sure they're supervised is key. Not just to ensure that they don't drown, but also to watch for signs that they might be getting sleepy, which would be a good time to cut off the water fun for the day.

Before heading out, you'll also want to make sure that your dog isn't too freaked out by bodies of water. If they stay calm, there's a better chance they'll stay safe, so introduce them to the water slowly if they aren't into it at first, being sure to go at their pace.

With any luck, your dog will be as carefree in the water as Bella and Chico are. Those Pugs really know how to relax!
