DIYer Transforms Broken Glass Bottles into a Stunning Mosaic Sink Design
Broken pieces of green, brown, and clear glass cover the sink basin from edge to drain.
Some pieces are smooth and rounded, while others keep sharper, uneven edges once they're set into the grout. In a TikTok video, creator @dreamgardenbuilds turned broken glass bottles into a mosaic sink by layering adhesive, grout, and sealant.
The bottle pieces wrap around the basin's curved sides instead of sitting in straight rows like standard tile.
Glass mosaics often show up on sinks, fountains, and garden pieces because smaller sections fit curved surfaces more easily than larger tiles. Once grouted, the uneven pieces sit together more like stone.

The Mosaic Sink Starts With Broken Glass Bottles
The project begins by breaking collected bottles into smaller mosaic pieces before installation.

Protective gloves and eye protection are used when handling glass, especially when separating larger bottle sections into smaller fragments. Once broken, the glass is sorted by size and color before being arranged around the sink.
The sink is cleaned first, so the adhesive bonds properly to the glass.
From there, the bottle pieces get attached section by section around the basin. Greens, browns, and clearer pieces get mixed throughout the sink instead of being separated into blocks of color.
Some pieces sit tightly beside each other, while others leave wider grout lines visible between them once everything dries.
How the DIY Mosaic Sink Comes Together
After the glass is attached, grout is spread across the sink to fill the gaps between the pieces.
As the grout dries, the excess is wiped away, leaving the lines filled in underneath. The grout holds the smaller sections in place.
Afterward, sealant is added across the completed mosaic to help protect the sink from regular water exposure.

Running Water Creates A Different Look
