Bernese Mountain Dog Fan Nails What It's Really Like Raising One
When raising puppies, humans use many of the same tactics they do with babies, especially during those early months when their new furry family member is still small and learning the ropes. But what happens when that adorable puppy enters the teenage phase? Suddenly, they're bigger, stronger, and somehow even naughtier than before.

original sound - Franklin and Mom
Well, Franklin, a 1-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, is firmly in his teenage era, and while most puppy antics can usually be handled with standard pet-parenting techniques, Franklin presents one additional challenge: he's absolutely enormous. The fluffy giant weighs in at a whopping 112 pounds, and his mom has been hilariously documenting life with the oversized puppy for social media fans to enjoy.
Recently, one follower perfectly summed up Franklin's mom's parenting style by calling it "gentle parenting a dinosaur," and she couldn't have agreed more.

To prove the point, she shared a new TikTok video showing exactly what life with @yournewfriendfranklin is like. The clip begins with Mom sitting down on the couch, nodding in agreement with the comment. Franklin immediately jumps up beside her, but instead of settling in for cuddles, he climbs onto the back of the couch and stretches toward something sitting on the counter behind them.
For a brief moment, his mom just stares at him in disbelief before jumping into action. "No! No! Get down, get down," she says while trying to redirect the oversized puppy.
She quickly follows it up with an "Absolutely not," just as Franklin casually readjusts his position on the couch like he has no idea what she's talking about.
Fans React to Mom's Gentle Parenting
Many followers couldn't contain their laughter and filled the comments section with laughing emojis. One person wrote, "He's like, 'Whelp, now she knows how I get up there.' " while another joked, "Oh my gosh! He's so naughty, and I love it, especially because he's not mine! "
Honestly, I can't imagine life with a puppy the size of an eighth grader. Franklin's mom is handling the chaos like a pro, and I have a feeling she knew exactly what she was signing up for when she decided he was the pup for her family.
