New York Knicks Warn Fans of Massively Increased Safety Procedures Ahead of NBA Finals Game 3

The New York Knicks are in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, and the team is halfway to its first championship series win since the 1970s. The Big Apple is going berserk, and the pandemonium in Madison Square Garden for Game 3 on Monday night will surely be palpable.

The Knicks won the first two games of the series in San Antonio to secure a stranglehold on the Finals. No team has ever lost an NBA Finals after winning both of the first two games on the opponent's home floor.

With so many fans assuming the series will conclude with a celebration for New York this week, the Knicks are increasing security ahead of Monday night's contest. President Donald Trump is also expected to attend the game, something that surely is factoring into the heightened security measures.

The Knicks put out a statement on Saturday about what's happening.

"As we move closer to Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, Madison Square Garden and the United States Secret Service want to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all ticket holders by sharing important security procedures that will be in place."

"A strict no-bag policy will be in effect, and fans should make every effort to limit personal items to an absolute minimum. Fans should expect enhanced security measures when entering Madison Square Garden, including TSA-style screening procedures. Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive at least two hours before tip-off to allow additional time for screening and entry."

The game is one of the most expensive sporting events in modern history. Yahoo Sports reported last night that the most expensive tickets for Game 3 are over $104,000. The most expensive tickets for Game 4 on Wednesday, June 10, are upwards of $109,000. The tickets have skyrocketed after the Knicks put themselves in position to win the NBA championship this week with victories in both of these games.
