'Rivals' Season 2 Part 2 Gets Hulu Release Date and Trailer

Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead for Hulu and Disney+'s Rivals

What do you mean we have to wait months for Rivals to return? After that cliffhanger? To hype up the back half of the steamy series' second season, Hulu and Disney+ unleashed a trailer and a premiere month after Episode 6 aired. Although perhaps there's an element of softening the blow, too, after the tragic death of Monica Baddingham (Claire Rushbrook) in the episode's final minutes.

So far, Season 2 has continued to focus on the deep-seated rivalry (heated of a different variety, if you will) between Lord Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) and Declan O'Hara (Aidan Turner)/Rupert Campbell Black (Alex Hassell). Corinium put on a televised version of A Midsummer Night's Dream, with Tony offering star Maud O'Hara (Victoria Smurfit) a plum role in the network's top TV series before the two had an affair.

Declan and Cameron Cook (Nafessa Williams) went to Ireland to film their W.B. Yeatsdocumentary for the BBC, and later recorded The Golden Gauntlet for Venturer (well, until Tony destroyed the tapes). Meanwhile, Taggie O'Hara (Bella Maclean) grew closer to Bas Baddingham (Luca Pasqualino), much to Rupert's envy, and Lizzie Vereker (Katherine Parkinson) and Freddie Jones (Danny Dyer) struggled to stay away from each other.

In the Season 2, Part 1 finale, Monica learns about Tony's infidelity after her son Archie (Louis Landau) and Declan's daughter Caitlin (Catriona Chandler) discover photos of a naked Maud from Tony's camera. Monica leaves during a storm to have a heartbreaking, soul-moving conversation with Lizzie about kicking Tony to the curb so she can live the life she deserves.

Then, Monica tells Tony that she plans to divorce him and keep the mansion. She offers to drive Caitlin to the O'Hara residence with the aim of revealing Maud's unfaithfulness to Declan. Declan and Rupert find Caitlin wandering the road after experiencing a traumatic car accident, but Monica wasn't so lucky. The episode ends with Rupert informing Tony about Monica's death.

The trailer for Rivals Season 2, Part 2, shows that the gloves are off for Tony, who has nothing to lose now. We also see glimpses of Rupert yearning for Taggie, Lizzie and Freddie's furtive glances as they dance with their spouses, Cameron with packed bags (possibly leaving Rupert?), and Paul Stratton (Rufus Jones) hilariously punching James Vereker (Oliver Chris) in the nose.

Rivals Season 2, Part 2 will debut with six episodes (for a 12-episode season in total) in November 2026 on Hulu and Disney+. Before you go, watch the trailer below.
