Netflix Introduces MLB Daily Highlights Hub for Select Sports Fans

After many years of being known as the perfect place to stream movies and TV shows, Netflix has been expanding its sports content in exciting ways. Now, it turns out that the streaming service quietly added a major new sports feature that is hidden and not available to everyone, but perfect for fans.

Netflix Just Dropped a Massive MLB Hub with Over 180 Episodes

On June 2, What's on Netflix reported that Netflix has recently added MLB Daily Highlights & Top Plays. The feature is an entirely new hub of sports programming that is exactly what it sounds like. The outlet noted that as of that day, the hub already had 181 episodes, which ranged in length from one to 14 minutes. The episodes are presented in two formats, quick one-minute Top 5 Plays of the Day videos for more casual fans and longer Game Highlights videos that span in length from 10 to 14 minutes.

As a part of its report, What's on Netflix's provided an example of how the streaming service had been rolling out content on the hub. It noted that on June 1, the company added a one-minute Top 5 Plays of the Day and a 10-minute Game Highlights video that featured footage from nine different MLB games.

Considering that the hub already has so many episodes, sports fans may be wondering why they haven't seen or heard anything about it. That is because there is a catch. According to What's on Netflix, the outlet learned that the hub is currently being tested by the company. For that reason, Netflix is only showing it to select homes in specific regions of the United States.

How to Find Netflix's Hidden Sports Hub

For some fortunate Netflix users who are sports fans, finding the MLB Daily Highlights & Top Plays will be easy. Those select users will find it on their Netflix homescreen with the "New" label, similar to the way Netflix has released other sports programming nationwide.

According to What's on Netflix, other users who haven't seen it on their homescreen may be able to access the hub through a link you can click here. However, since the feature is only being rolled out in specific United States regions, it is geoblocked, meaning it can't be viewed outside of approved areas, even through that link. Sadly, those outside the test region will have to wait to see if Netflix sees enough value to roll it out to their area. I certainly hope that the new feature is released as widely as possible.
