Janicki Industries chooses Great Falls, Montana, for next manufacturing campus

Sedro-Woolley-based engineering and manufacturing company Janicki Industries announced Tuesday that it has selected Great Falls, Montana, as the site for its next manufacturing campus.

According to a Tuesday news release, the campus will cost $800 million and add 2 million square feet of production space throughout the next decade.

It will create 1,000 new jobs within the first five years, and about 2,000 jobs once construction is complete.

The company is not leaving Washington. Janicki's expansion plans stem from growing demand from aerospace, defense and space customers.

According to the release, Janicki has spent several months evaluating its multistate growth plan.

A manufacturing location in Utah is expected to break ground this summer.

For its second location outside the state, Janicki was primarily considering communities in Idaho and Montana.

Great Falls, the third most populous city in Montana, was chosen because Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte responded favorably to Janicki's interest.

In the news release, Gianforte said, "The Treasure State is proud to attract job creators like Janicki that choose to expand from high-tax, high-regulation blue states to take advantage of our unmatched quality of life, lower taxes, and strong workforce. I look forward to seeing the impact of this significant investment."

Janicki is purchasing 180 acres within AgriTech Park in Great Falls, and expects construction to begin in July. The first phase of the campus is expected to open by the end of 2027.

Janicki Industries President John Janicki said, "We believe in creating an environment where hard work, innovation and collaboration are rewarded, not only professionally, but through opportunities to build a life, own a home, raise a family or pursue entrepreneurial goals. Great Falls embodies the kind of community where we feel those opportunities can flourish."
