Cats are experts at demanding attention in creative ways, especially when they feel ignored, which is a very low bar for them to start feeling excluded. If simply meowing doesn't work to get the attention they want, cats will experiment with more dramatic tactics.

This video shows a Ragdoll cat who found the perfect way not only to get her parents' attention when they were busy watching television, but also to catch our attention, because her decision to become a statue was genius. The commitment to the performance makes it impossible not to laugh. Take a look!

The Furbabies Diary (@the.furbabies.diary) shared a video of their gorgeous Ragdoll cat named Luna. She's hanging out in the TV room with her family, and they're watching something on the TV. But Luna, being a cat, wanted the focus and attention to be on her alone. And she had the perfect move in mind to shift that focus.

In the caption, Luna's mom jokes, wondering what the kitty is trying to do by standing up on her hind legs right in the center of the TV viewing. She looks like a statue, trying to take focus as the table centerpiece, and it works.

Why Cats Use Attention-Seeking Behaviors To Compete With Screens and Distractions

Luna is such a silly kitty, wanting her parents' attention, and she's found the perfect way to get it. If her parents were on their computer instead of watching TV, her method of getting attention would be slightly different from what she's doing here, probably choosing to sit on the keyboard. There are a few reasons cats do this, according to the experts.

According to Cats.com, one of the reasons cats love to sit on our keyboards, or stand in front of the TV like Luna, is to get attention. They explain that when something has our undivided attention, like a computer or a TV, they want some of that for themselves, and they know how to get our attention.

In this case, it's Luna standing up on her two hind legs, which she knows works to drive focus right back to her. For other cats, it's to sit right on the keyboard when we're trying to type.
