A group of cats can't contain their delight when they get to run around their backyard after a new fence is installed.

In the adorable TikTok video, three cats were let out into the backyard to enjoy the fences that would keep them contained, but they still frolicked around. In the video, two of the cats ran back and forth across the yard, while one tried to sneak up on his siblings.

At one point, they would all play together, and one seemed to be playing hide-and-seek with his siblings, hiding behind the plants. The others continued hunting for bugs and enjoying the daylight.

In the video, the cat's parents jokingly wrote in the caption, "Welcome to the grasslands " as they all frolicked and played together in the yard. The video delighted users online, with people commenting on the "parkour" and their "ground-level shenanigans" around the newly-fenced yard.

"They gonna sleep good tonight mama," one user commented as the cats zooed around the backyard and played together. "I love how they're cats….but there's still that 'are you watching me, mommy' baby energy ," another said.

"All I can hear is the parkour sound from the office," one person joked as they lept through the yard.

"SO REFRESHING TO SEE RESPONSIBLE CAT OWNERS OMGGG," another user pointed out. "We love to see it supervised safe outdoor time yessss."

Should you let your cats roam outside?

There's been plenty of back-and-forth about whether it's okay to let your cats play outside. Vets mainly recommend that cats stay inside, but supervised, outdoor activity can be a great way to keep a cat happy.

According to Countryside Vet Hospital, cats are reccommended to stay indoors mainly for their safety and health. Many cats that are allowed to go outside without supervision could end up badly injured or bring home diseases and unknown pathogens that can affect them or their families.

There are ways to keep a cat happy indoors by providing cat-friendly furniture and plenty of playtime. However, if pet parents feel their cat would enjoy spending time outdoors, the best option is to provide supervised playtime outside or even take them out on a leash.

Macungie Animal Hospital also explains that supervised outdoor time can provide a cat with plenty of exercise and mental enrichment, reduce stress and anxiety, and even create bonding moments between cat parents and their cat.

If you plan to take a cat outside, make sure to provide indoor harness training first, and choose safe, quiet areas for the cat to enjoy so they don't get overly stressed.
