Helpful Dachshund Refuses To Let Mom Struggle With the Leash While on a Walk

Some dogs are happy to let their humans handle everything during walks and take pride in walking calmly on their lead. But other dogs choose chaos and decide that when they need to let off some energy, their walk is the best place to do that, and it becomes a real battle. But there are other pups who take a very different approach.

In this video, we meet a little dog who has his own unique view of what it's like to go for a walk with his mama. He likes routine and predictability to a tee, even when things outside his control go a little sideways, which is what makes the whole moment unbelievably sweet.

i was curious as to what Koda would do if i dropped his leash, and he did not disappoint #minidachshund#dachshund#doglife#dogmom#oslo

TikTok user @doxiekoda features a beautiful Kaninchen Dachshund, who is probably one of the sweetest doggies on the internet. At least that's my stance after watching this clip of the little dude going for a walk with his mom.

She dropped the lead she was holding while walking with Koda, and in that moment, he went above and beyond adorable. Instead of running and taking that moment for a chance to be chaotic, he picked up the other end of the lead his mom dropped and walked it, and himself, right back to her.

In the comments, people were happy to see how sweet Koda is, and it's hard not to fall in love with him right here. Some comments included: "Gorgeous Bean," "What you call a loyal dog," "Oh, how cute," "What a cutie," "Star," and "My Dachshund said this is AI."

How Much Exercise Does a Dachshund Need?

Koda is such a good puppy, knowing that the walk he's on with their human benefits both of them, so he doesn't try any shenanigans. Instead, he focuses on getting out for daily exercise, which experts say is important for his overall health.

According to Dachshund Health UK, Dachshunds should have time set aside each day for exercise, which is very important for their overall health.

The site explains that the general rule for daily exercise for a Dachshund depends on the dog's age. It's explained as the "5-minute rule." Add 5 minutes for each month of age, so a 6-month-old puppy would get 30 minutes of exercise, while a 3-month-old puppy would get 15 minutes. When your puppy is a fully grown dog, the recommendations will really depend on your pup's preferences and personality.
