Bulldog Has Award-Worthy Reaction to Mom 'Smelling Like Dogs'

In my experience, dogs don't always love the idea of sharing their MVP in the house. As the designated "food lady," I'm that person here, so if I were to pet another dog somewhere, my two pups wouldn't hesitate to let me know it caused them severe heartbreak.

Lavelle, the English Bulldog, is the same way, except his reaction is a full-on Broadway show with all the theatrics you could ever want!

Sorry, Mom, but Lavelle is going to need a minute to freak out and wipe off all the other dog smells from his head, which you just petted. He feels like he's been cursed with "cooties" by the betrayal. It's hard to say if he'll ever get over such a travesty... but I'm sure all would be fine with a treat or two.

As one of the internet's most stubborn and opinionated (but so cute) dogs, Lavelle has a right to feel whatever he feels. I'm sure Mom meant nothing by it, and things will go back to normal in no time, but he was seriously offended that she'd have the audacity to pet other dogs!

It was only a couple of days after the two had a lovely time outside, where the funny boy sported his most adorable jammies while taste testing dandelions. Sometimes I think he just does whatever he knows will get under her skin because his methods work 13/10 times.

Why Smelling Like Other Pets Upsets Some Dogs

Lavelle, not wanting to share his mom with others, is totally understandable. Dogs learn a lot about the world through scent, and they even have favorite scents (like how we smell), so if you're guilty of petting other canines, they might want to examine you thoroughly. Reactions may include sensory confusion or acting a little territorial, but most of the time, they're just investigating.

Lavelle, in all his dramatic flair, just needed to let his feelings fly for a moment, but I'm sure he's over it by now!
