As you can imagine, the comments section for this video on this Pomeranian's little ritual was quite cute.

One person said, "He's a Pilates girlie."

Another commented, "I have a Pom as well. This is what he does before his walk. Oh, and he has to hit the food bowl for a few quick bites before leaving. Pomeranians crack me up."

"It's important to do a proper cool-down," someone else wrote.

"That's the tiniest 'big stretch' I've ever seen!" said another watcher, and we couldn't agree more!

Why Dogs Stretch After Walks

It's important to stretch before a workout, but why do dogs tend to stretch after walks as well?

Stretching helps maintain the dogs' muscle and joint flexibility.

Every time they stretch like little Keanu, their range of motion improves, making them more agile and strong.

That's why pups also stretch when they first wake up in the morning and throughout the day as well.

This applies to dogs of all ages, not just young and active ones.

For older pooches with joint pain, regular stretching can help them immensely.

In addition to the physical benefits of stretching, there are mental health benefits of stretching for our pups.

It looks like Keanu, the Pomeranian, really likes stretching, and that's because those beautiful leg extensions have a calming effect on him.

He's not just doing it to look cute (though he does look quite cute doing it), but stretching actually reduces his stress and anxiety levels.

Stretching can serve as a self-soothing mechanism.

Keanu has done his walk, and he is feeling good!
