Longview businesses raise funds for Nippon spill victims, families

Local businesses are hosting fundraisers to support families affected by the major chemical spill at a Nippon Dynawave Packaging Co. plant on Tuesday.

Big Smoke BBQ and Bob's Sporting Goods

* What: Barbecue and live music. Pay what you can.

* When: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday

* Where: 1111 Hudson St., Longview

Cowlitz Wahkiakum Central Labor Council and Longview/Kelso Building Trades Council

* What: The organizations opened an account at the Lower Columbia Longshoremen's Federal Credit Union to support victims' families. Anyone can make a deposit in person or through the mail. Add "Family Fund Donation" to mailed donations.

* Where: The credit union's main branch at 629 14th Ave. in Longview.

Fei's Carriage Restaurant and Lounge

* What: Hot dog stand, $2 each, and car washes, $10. Affected families will receive 10% off all dine-in or takeout food sales.

* When: 12-5 p.m. Friday-Sunday

* Where: 3353 Washington Way, Longview

Longview Grocery Outlet

* What: Donate to the Cowlitz/Wahkiakum Central Labor Council and Longview/Kelso Building Trades' fund for victims' families when checking out.

* Where: 920 Ocean Beach Hwy., Longview

McDonald's

* What: Both Longview locations are offering one free meal per visit to first responders during breakfast, lunch or dinner. Customers must provide a first responder ID or arrive in uniform

* When: Through Sunday

* Where: 729 Ocean Beach Hwy. and 196 38th Ave., Longview

North County Coffee and Bakery

* What: Both locations are donating 100% of gross sales to victims and families.

* When: Friday-Sunday

* Where: 724 Frontage Road, Kalama, and 27002 NE Lewisville Hwy., Battle Ground

Shamrock Bar and Grill

* What: The restaurant will donate 20% of all gross sales to relief efforts for victims' families. All proceeds will go directly to the disaster relief efforts at Longshoremen's Federal Credit Union.

* When: 7 a.m.-10 p.m. June 7

* Where: 1131 15th Ave., Longview

Thunder Mountain Tattoo Expo

* What: All proceeds from the expo's bike show registration fees, art auction and 50/50 raffle will be donated to the fund at Longshoremen's Federal Credit Union. Donation boxes will also be available.

* When: June 6

* Where: 1900 7th Ave., Longview

Unity Counseling Group

* What: A free support group for survivors of the accident. Call or text 360-776-0528 to RSVP.

* When: 4-5 p.m. Saturday

* Where: 900 Ocean Beach Hwy., Suite 110B, Longview

842 Group

* What: Guests at four 842 Group locations will have the opportunity to round up their check to support the fundraiser at Longshoremen's Federal Credit Union. The group will also match guest donations up to $4,000.

* When: Through June 27

* Where: The Office 842 at 842 Washington Way, Longview; Triangle Tavern at 934 Washington Way, Longview; Silver Star Sports Bar & Grill at 1032 Vandercook Way, Longview; Maddalena's Italian Cafe at 351 Three Rivers Drive, Kelso
