Two-for-one class act: Retirement community hosts 70th reunion for Fort, Hudson's Bay students
May 28-The mood was festive and nostalgic at the Vancouver Pointe retirement community May 20 as people gathered to celebrate a very special high school reunion.
Resident Dolores Anderson organized the event for classmates from two high schools - Fort Vancouver and Hudson's Bay - to mark 70 years since graduation.
"Fort Vancouver HS parted from Vancouver High School in January, 1956," Marti Earhart, activities director at Vancouver Pointe, said in an email. "While half the students remained in the same building under a new name (Fort Vancouver HS), the other half went to the newly built Hudson's Bay HS. Fort Vancouver invited Hudson Bay's seniors to graduate with them at the same ceremony because they all knew each other so well - many attended school together at least since middle school."
About 20 classmates attended the reunion.
