IKEA Dropped a Limited-Edition Colorful Picnic Set With Everything You Need for Summer
In an effort to be more environmentally-friendly, I've been following zero-waste living principles for nine years now. I'm by no means perfect, but I do follow a few golden rules to help keep my trash output as low as possible - and one of those rules is to always use reusables for dining.
There are many occasions where disposable plates, utensils, cups and napkins are the norm, especially in the summer. Think: BBQs, pool parties and picnics. But investing in outdoor-safe reusable versions of those items can go a long way in helping to reduce waste in the long run. Not to mention, reusable dishes always look and feel nicer than single-use versions.
So, when I saw that IKEA dropped a limited-edition picnic set in fun colors for just $9.99, I was instantly intrigued.
MARULK 21-Piece Picnic Set, Pink/Blue, $9.99 at IKEA
The MARULK 21-piece picnic set comes with everything you need to serve a meal to four people: four cups, four plates, four forks, four knives, four spoons and one tray. All the items fit tidily in the included reusable white mesh bag, which you can close with the cute black-and-white stripy elastic band.
Once you're finished with your meal, just stack the plates upside-down in the tray, on top of the utensils. On top of that, stack the cups on their sides, slide the tray into the mesh bag and seal it with the elastic band.
For summer 2026, IKEA is selling the MARULK set in a fun pink and blue colorway. All of the utensils are light blue, the serving tray is light pink, and then each dish and cup are in four different matching colors: light pink, light blue, hot pink and orange.
All of the tableware is made of polypropylene plastic and is dishwasher-safe. This set is marked as limited edition on the IKEA website, so if you're interested, make sure to scoop one up soon.
MARULK 21-Piece Picnic Set, Mixed Colors, $9.99 at IKEA
IKEA also offers the MARULK 21-piece picnic set in a much more neutral colorway. Though it's titled "mixed colors," every piece of tableware is white - except for the tray, which is yellow. This set also comes with a white mesh bag and striped elastic band.
On IKEA's website, reviews for both versions of the MARULK picnic set are positive - especially for campers.
"PERFECT for a camper for camping," one reviewer wrote about the white set. "This was the ultimate set & you can't beat the price or the space saving."
"I was looking for a set of tableware that I could use for camping with the family. This fits the bill perfectly. Price is right too!" another reviewer wrote.
