Most cat parents know that bringing a new cat into the family can either go incredibly smoothly or go the complete opposite way. In this hilarious video shared by Zasha, her sweet new kitten decided nap time was the perfect opportunity for cuddles with the older cat, but the older feline was definitely not a fan of the plan.
The clip shows the grouchy older cat, Lisa Simpson, waking up to find Terry the kitten cozied up right beside her. At first, Lisa seems confused, but the second she fully realizes what's happening, her expression says it all. Viewers everywhere couldn't stop laughing at the relatable sibling energy between the affectionate kitten and the older cat who just wanted some personal space.

It's not unusual at all for an adult cat to seem completely annoyed by a new kitten. According to Vetstreet, existing cats often view a newly introduced cat as a stranger rather than an instant family member. That reaction is completely normal feline behavior.
Kittens can create even more tension because they completely disrupt an older cat's routine. They invade territory, have endless energy, and constantly try to play, even when the older cat wants absolutely nothing to do with it. In some cases, the older cat may not have even lived with another cat in years, so adjusting to a new companion takes time. VetStreet explains that cats who have lived alone for long periods often need a gradual introduction process before they feel comfortable sharing their space.
They also point out that, depending on the cats' ages and personalities, the pair may never become best friends. Sometimes the real goal is simply peaceful coexistence, or at least learning to tolerate each other without too much drama.
